“The Leadership Boot Camp has fundamentally changed how I interact with colleagues, how I perceive challenges and how I form strategies to solve problems.”
─Past participant in the TCG/American Express Leadership Boot Camp

With the season of resolutions upon us, I would like to turn your attention to the rapidly approaching deadline for the TCG/American Express Leadership Boot Camp. Here at TCG, we know that the daily hustle can often make it difficult to live up to even the smallest resolutions. The bigger ones—like improving our capacity to lead—can soon seem completely out of reach.

The TCG/American Express Leadership Boot Camp is here to help. This two-day leadership development program will bring together 15 pairs of established and emerging theatre leaders from TCG member theatres to the Center for Creative Leadership’s Greensboro, NC headquarters. The workshop will foster intergenerational dialogue, explore effective methods of communication, increase participants’ self-awareness for personal and professional growth and align vision with strategy. We’ve extended the application deadline to Friday, January 20, so I encourage you to apply and also read the inspiring testimonials of past participants.

While you’re at it, why not make a resolution to share your voice in our I AM THEATRE campaign? We’re thrilled that Laurie McCants of Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, Dave Steakley of ZACH Theatre and Amy Marshall of Olney Theatre Center recently shared their own I AM THEATRE stories. Our original vision for I AM THEATRE was thousands of theatre artists across the world posting their own video testimonies of why they do what they do and why theatre matters. How might that transform our communities’ awareness of our work? So grab a video camera or iPhone, submit your story and let’s resolve to make 2012 the year the whole country hears us say together, “WE ARE THEATRE!”
