We are pleased to announce the launch of the 2011 Education Survey – TCG’s annual online survey of the theatre education field. We urge every Member Theatre to visit the education page on the TCG website at www.tcg.org/tools/education/ to fill out the survey. The deadline for completing the survey is Friday, April 20, 2012.
For the past twelve years, TCG has conducted surveys of education programs across our membership. The results of the surveys are featured each year in an annual Education Centerpiece. Theatres that complete their survey will find their detailed profile posted on the TCG website and their program information accessible through our online search tool and reporting tool. TCG’s reporting tool allows you to select specific search criteria and pull a customized report to learn more about field-wide demographics, staffing, programming, etc. We also have an extensive searchable database of student study guides published by Member Theatres.
Just as education teleconferences and convenings have helped many of you connect with colleagues dealing with similar issues, dilemmas and needs, this survey is becoming an ever more valuable document as more and more of you participate. Please visit the TCG website and take advantage of the education database. It is for your benefit, and can be a powerful learning and advocacy tool! Also, please don’t forget to update your study guides in the database! We would like to keep this resource as up to date and helpful to the field as possible.
You will need your username and password to gain access to your survey form. If you do not yet have a username and password, please ask your managing director to set you up, or call TCG’s Customer Service Department at 212-609-5900 x370. Your form may be saved online, repeatedly, so that you may work at your own pace. Once you complete the survey, click the “Submit to TCG” button, and your information will be sent to TCG.
We ask that you report on fiscal year 2011 programming that took place in your fiscal year ending anytime between October 31, 2010 and September 30, 2011. In this way, your theatre will be reporting fiscal and education programming information for the same time period. All of the information being requested on the education survey — numbers of staff, audiences and program information — should be for your theatre’s education programs.
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Laurie Baskin, director of government & education programs at (212) 609-5900 x228 or by email at email@example.com; or contact Alissa Moore, government & education programs associate at (212) 609-5900 x275 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you in advance for taking the time to participate in the 2011 Education Survey!
